What is your “day job?”
I work full time in Research & Development in the Pharmaceutical Industry, and I am the owner of The Olde Mill Inn Bed & Breakfast in downtown Cumberland Gap. Volunteering for GOTG completes my trifecta of “work” fun, but my absolute favorite job and #1 priority is being my kids’ Mama!

Why did you become involved with GOTG?
I helped found The GOTG because the Town of Cumberland Gap and its history need to be protected for all people, for all of time. The promise of economic opportunity is just as great here today as it was back in the 1800s! Cumberland Gap is a quaint jewel of outdoor adventure and idyllic leisure time that’s bursting with untapped potential. I feel called to help ensure the town is developed strategically, responsibly, and with the best interests of town residents always at the forefront of our efforts.

What do you feel is the most exciting thing on the horizon for Cumberland Gap?
For me, I’m most excited about the potential to update and optimize the town’s tourism infrastructure – utilities, parking, amenities, facades, streetscapes, festival structures, and the overall enjoyment of the incredible, natural beauty that surrounds our adorable, tiny town.

What is your favorite activity to do in Cumberland Gap and why?
The B&B I own may be a commercial business, but it’s my home away from home “Happy Place” whenever I can find the time to be there. I love cooking for and visiting with guests on the weekends, and I always look forward to helping out with and attending the many festivals and events that take place in Cumberland Gap all year round. The town of Cumberland Gap is “What’s Gappening” (TM) in the Cumberland Gap region, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!
