What is your “day job?”
I am the co-owner of The Olde Church Events Center and the neighboring Parsonage Guest House.
Why did you become involved with GOTG?
I’ve volunteered in some capacity during the past 20 years in every place I’ve lived. I believe that if you want a strong community, then you need to put in the volunteer effort to make that happen. As co-owner of the new events center in town, I am in a position to use the space for many town functions and festivals.
What do you feel is the most exciting thing on the horizon for Cumberland Gap?
I’m looking forward to the expansion of the hiking trail system, which begins just steps from downtown. Our town will have an opportunity to meet many of those folks looking to explore the trails and share with them our town’s unbelievable beauty, deep history, and local lore.
What is your favorite activity to do in Cumberland Gap and why?
There are many things I love experiencing in Cumberland Gap, but my favorite is hiking up to the Pinnacle Overlook to enjoy a bird’s eye view of our quaint little town. The trails are rarely busy and listening to the birds chirp away in the overhead tree canopy helps ease away the stress of any day.
